Mascherano signs for FC Barcelona

After months of rumours linking Javier Mascherano with FC Barcelona, Liverpool defensive midfielder finally signed for the Catalan giants.

Argentinian international is expected to seal a 4 year deal with Barca and join Word player of the year Lionel Messi who was a big advocate of the transfer.

Mascherano is expected to say goodbye to Liverpool fans today and arrive in Barcelona on Saturday for his medical.

FC Barcelona news report a fee of 22 million euros + 6 million in variables and contrary to previous reports; Alexaner Hleb and martin Caceres will not be included in the transfer.

FC Barcelona signs Villa!

FC Barcelona completed the signing of one of the best strikers in the World – David Villa.

After being inches away from signing him last summer Barca finally completed their long wished target and added the Spanish international to their squad list.

Reported fee is 40 million euros with David Villa signing a 4 year contract.

Villa has been the leading striker in Spain for the past years and helped Spain win European Championship in 2008.

Barca interested in Hazard

According to French media, Belgian international, Eden Hazard (19),  is being followed by Spanish champions, FC Barcelona.

Lille midfielder is already on shopping list of various clubs and Real Madrid are also looking to add him to their squad for next season following Zinedine Zidane’s praises.

Should Hazard be allowed to leave Lille will be looking for compensation close to 20 million euros

FC Barcelona wins La Liga!

After a long and exhausting season where they were pushed to their limits by their rivals from Madrid, FC Barcelona have finally won the title.

It took no less than 99 points for Pep Guardiola’s men to complete the feat in what will be remembered as another record breaking season.

During celebrations Guardiola apologized to the fans for not reaching the Champions league final in Madrid and each player addressed the fans who were present at the show at the Camp Nou, thanking the fans and ending with famous:”Long live Barca and long live Catalonia!”.

Villa could join Barca next week

Valencia striker, David Villa, is one of the most sought after players this year. Spanish club is having problems dealing with their debt and will be looking to offload their main asset this summer.

According to Catalan news daily Sport, David Villa could sign for FC Barcelona as soon as next week as the two clubs already agreed on price that would be slightly over 40 million euros.

Fabregas will only leave Arsenal for Barca

During his visit to Spain, Arsenal playmaker and Spanish international, Cesc Fabregas, revealed that should he leave Arsenal he will only consider signing for Barcelona.

Last summer, both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona were linked heavily with the midfielder but Arsenal’s captain opted to day for another year with the Gunners.

This year, however, it will be very hard for Arsene Wenger to keep his star player after another disappointing season for Arsenal.

Iniesta returns to training

FC Barcelona midfielder and Spanish international, Andres Iniesta, has eturned to training after being sidelined for a month. News comes in a perfect time for Barcelona as Xavi Hernandez picked up suspension in the match in Seville and won’t be able to play in La Liga’s last round.

Barca will have a day off on Wednesday and will return to training on Thursday 11AM.

Barca travels to Seville for league decider

FC Barcelona coach, Josep Guardiola, called on all his 1st team players to make a trip to Seville for what many consider to be a league decider.

Barca will have to do without their creative midfielder Andres Iniesta and first choice central back – Gerard Pique. Should the Catalans slip and drop points it would open doors for their bitter rivals, Real Madrid, to grab the first spot on the last round of La Liga.

New York pondering Henry move

Erik Stover, New York Red Bull director, claims that they are yet to decide whether to make a move for signing FC Barcelona’s forward and French international, Thierry Henry.

Thierry Henry has  been linked with a move to US over past 2 years and New York was the club that were considered front-runners for the Frenchman’s signature.  However,  Stover is remaining cautious as there are many open questions regarding Henry’s paycheck and FC Barcelona’s asking price.
