Barca adds Arda Turan to their shortlist
Arda Turan is one of the young promising stars that has already caught attention of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. He is a great left-wing player, currently playing for Galatasaray.
The French media reports that Barca will try to sign the Turkish player, to fill in the position of the left-wing. Turam is also known as a very versatile players who can also play on different positions in the midfield.
In the last season Turan scored 13 goals and handed out 14 assists. He has continued with his great form this year, with having already8 assists on his tally in just 5 matches.
He really does look promising. Had an impressing spell with his national team in Euro as well. He got pace, technique & eye for goals(so not just a traditional winger). He’s humble, got leadership qualities & is already handed over the captaincy for his club. He could play in both the wings and also CAM position, so would get a lot of time on first team this season if at all he gets here. He could play back-up for Henry, Iniesta & Messi as well… not to mention he would own the LW position next year itself.
You can add 1 more to that assist tally of his this year, he provided one yesterday for his country in a friendly against Ukraine & was also involved in a very good build-up for another goal.
But it seems Rjikaard is counting a lot on the young player. that’s why handed over the captaincy already. But since he already acquired Elano for a very reasonable price & he is interested in acquiring our Henrique on loan, so why not play that card!! I guess he could be acquired for a 12-15 million + Henrique on loan
P.S. In the international friendly Ukraine vs Turkey, Chyhrynskiy was directly responsible for a goal due to his poor aerial defending(the goal for which Turan provided assist) and had his part in another goal due to his lack of pace & poor reading skills. So much for the 23 million we were ready to invest on the guy!!! May be he might be a little unsettled recently due to our interest and all, but yeah I am really getting to start doubting him….
I also heard some bad reports on Chygrynskiy from the CL qualifying match between Poli and Shaktar. Who knows maybe we are better off without him.
Galatasaray definitely won’t sell Arda Turan this year.He is a captain now and leader of the team maybe next season..
If Turan or for that matter any winger don’t come to us this year, they would be losing out on their glorious chance forever or say for near future.
Next year due to the presidential elections I think Fabregas would definitely be bought at any cost… Looking at the way Crosas is being appreciated at Celtic, even he might be bought back for 2.5 million using the clause in his contract. One of JDS & Thiago might turn out to be surprise package this year like Sergi Busquets has been last year. Busquee himself would develop into a world-class CM to judge by his performances in Confed.Cup and the preseason. So our mid is gonna be surplus with the number of players & we would be happy to play Iniesta in the wing more than often.
Coming to the forward line itself, at least one of Bojan & Pedro is gonna explode into a very good player this season. We would get back Keirrison. So we would have 2 players for each position on our forward line as well. Iniesta & Bojan for LW. Ibra & Keirri for CF. Messi & Pedro for RW. If you observe we are not even counting on Henry any more after this season…
But since we have a tremendously tight schedule this season, we do need to get a player like Afellay or Turan to you know cover for Henry, Iniesta & Messi… because Bojan & Pedro are not yet quite ready for that role how ever impressing their preseason form might be.
IMO opinion the immediate transfers should be like a combination of Kompany/Vertonghen & Afellay/Turan. The former would back-up all the defense line including the CDM position during ACN. The latter as I said would cover the forward line including CAM & CM positions

I saw this guy in the euro’s and he was involved in all their comebacks, he really impressed me.
I rate the winger as well…However, I just don’t see a big Turkish club letting go of one of their national treasures on top of everything else said…If the player, of course, were to make it known his intentions then perhaps
We could however loan out Henrique & Jeffren if possible to them and pay some cash for the deal to be through. I really think signing him is not a problem if we really do want him. Rjikaard is the in charge there. Also he would be a very good manager for attacking prodigies, like our Bojan had developed a LOT more under Rjikaard than Pep. Also the player himself several times expressed his wish to play in bigger European clubs. His agent was awe-struck for even the possibility of Lyon you see…
Great posts here! I agree with most of them, Arda is class act, and should be considered an option for that left wing position. Arda also happens to be very versatile, playing across the midfield, perfect for a club like Barca!

Arda is a very rare player, he got great talent and he is 22 and knows how to overcome diffeculty on his own.
he has many solo’s that where anded as a score or assist, for peeps that saying he should not be on a top level..you should see gs champ lg games

Arda is much better than Afalley, maybe Iniesta can be compared by Arda, Iniesta is a better passer, Arda is a better winger, side player. He would be a replacement for Henry for this year and next year he would take his position, then Barça would be a real dream team.
Arda is an important part of the team, Galatasaray, but of course every player can be sold. We have a new star Serdar Eylik (19) whose style reminds me Cristiano Ronaldo, he loves to play vertically. And of course another greatest sportsman, Harry Kewell, we have.
But Arda must be at least 30 mio euro or Henrique + 15 mio euro + Jeffren on loan, or maybe even more because Bayern Münich wants more than 60 mio euro for Ribery and Arda is not a worse player than Ribery, I know this because Ribery was our player once as you can remember:) Besides Arda has something Ribery doesn’t have, leadership… Ribery would leave Barça, if Madrid offers him more money after 2 years Barça buys him. Ribery won’t give his soul to his team, won’t fight till last minute, but I can guarantee you that Arda is the man what Barça looks for, the man with loyal and fighting spirit like Catalans, you watch his games with Galatasaray and Turkish National Team.

You forgot to add one more player that you guys have—> Elano. He’s gonna be a very valuable addition for you guys. I reckon his transfer to be the most out-standing buy this season, 8million to a Brazil National team starter!?!?
Yes, I can’t wait longer to see him in Ali Sami Yen, he will help us to go forward in league and Uefa Cup, not only Elano, I expect a lot from Keita, too and we already have Servet, Topal, Arda, Kewell and Baros, I think we became a pretty good team:) I hope Rijkard brings a lot to us so that we win Uefa Cup, Barça wins CL and my most beloved teams Galatasaray and Barça meet in Super Cup next year.
Rijkard tries to make him a central midfielder, wants to create his new Iniesta, I have no patience to the results, but I can tell you this makes Arda to increase his abilities in passing and team play and these will make him a greater play, a Barça-level player. We will see..
But Eray, as I said earlier THIS could be the only chance he would get to ever sign for Barca. If we miss out on him or he misses out on this chance I’m afraid he would never be signing for Barca, at least not in near future. Check my previous post where I explained the reasons for that. Next season onwards the youngsters would really start delivering, but this season probably not
The squad is too small and we are gonna play for 6 trophies which is quite a bit, never mind the world cup next summer. Would prove to be way too much pressure on the current team if there are no reinforcements.
I am actually pretty confident on the player being a Barca quality at least for the rotation stage. Even then he will be playing a LOT this season if at all he does sign for us

In Turkish media, they say that Barcelona intends to sign Arda by the next season, in the mean time Galatasaray president Polat declared many times before the rumors that Arda was not going anywhere this season, and would not sign to any club popular than Galatasaray which means Arda can only sign to clubs such as Barcelona, Manu or Arsenal etc. in terms of his career plans. However, I believe Barca can sign Arda even this season if they pay a good money. Besides since Arda played for European League matches this season he won’t be able to play for Barca’s CL matches. For that reason it seems a bit difficult for Barca to sign him.
Anyhow I believe he has an impressive talent.
By the way, he can play in defense (right), left winger, right winger, and attacking midfielder. But the best he could on the left wing. All his killing crosses are by the left wing.
Since he played in Europa and not CL qualifiers, he could be played in champions league after January. Like last season Real Madrid had the option to choose one among Huntelaar & Diarra for Champions League, they chose Diarra and totally blew it but that’s totally another topic
Heard if Arsenal do sign the Fulham defender this season , he could be eligible for Champions League for hem only after January because he played for Europa qualifications. So, that’s that. I guess it’s not gonna be an issue. It’s not like Barca are gonna be eliminated in group stage without new signings.
