Barca preparing to land a central defender

chygrynskiy-barcelona-257According to “Futbolmercado”, FC Barcelona could finally achieve the signing of the promising central defender Dmitro Chygrynskiy.

In the last few days the transfer seems nearer than ever and it is said that Barca coach, Pep Guardiola is the one who insisted on Chygrynskiy persistently.

After series of refusals from his club, FC Barcelona now obtained the “yes” from Chygrynskiy, who even held talks with his coach Mircea Lucescu about his potential transfer to Barcelona.

“Chygrynskiy came for me to ask if I could grant him a transfer to Barcelona. I understand him, when a team as Barça wants him, you can`t say “no”. I understand that he wants to go and who wouldn`t in his place? All football players of the planet would want to join Barcelona”, said the Shaktar`s coach, Mircea Lucescu.

  5. Along with K9, Dmitro Chygrynskiy’s signing could be another ray of hope for Barca’s future. Honestly, I have a feeling that we are again about to pay more than we would have liked to.

  6. Honestly, I was always more worried about our defence than anything else. So in a way this investment is really needed.

  8. @Alyssa: Puyol’s age could be one of the factors why Pep is insistent that we don’t back off. Pep also has watched him in action against Barca so he knows that what he is capable of. Must have made a good first impression.

  10. @Alyssa, i think pique is already a replacement for puyol, only one thing he cant play as a full back like puyol. Pep is also looking for a defender to partner with pique in the future, both of them are 22 so it looks perfect

  12. Puyol, Marquez, Pique, Caceres, Milito, Henrique……..what more do we want..

  13. @jairzinho: at the moment Milito is out for certain ( don’t know when is he coming back) and even Marquez’s participation remains a question mark. Caceres is mostly on his way to Juventus. That leaves us with Puyol (30 plus, could be rotated), Pique (22) and Henrique (the rookie of the team). We need at least three strong options to fill that position. We need to strengthen our defence.
