Fabregas open to negotiations

According to Spanish news daily “Sport”, FC Barcelona officials made progress in their bid for signing the Arsenal playmaker and Spanish international Cesc Fàbregas.
Reportedly, the Catalans contacted Cesc´s agent, Darren Dein, and asked if the player would be willing to join Barcelona. The agent confirmed that Fabregas would is open to negotiate but under condition that Barca first reaches an agreement with Arsenal.
Sources close to Arsenal report that Arsenal are unwilling to accept players like Henrique and Gudjohnsen as a part of the payment and eventhough they are unlikely to part from their captain, a fee close to 40 million euros would be taken into consideration.
The deadline for the potential Fabregas transfer is August 18, when Arsenal plays their Champions League qualifying match vs. Celtic. Should the player feature in the game he would become ineligible to play for another team in the competition and thus practically make the transfer impossible.

Oh, and 40 million is not much for him. He worth every penny of it.

Do we really need him this season..? thats the question…i think next season should be when we sign him….right now arsenal are not even contenders for PL trophy and if they dont make the top 4 in england his price will surely drop..

Cesc worth more than 40m according to current market. And of course we need him this season, so iniesta can give competition for titi. And we cannot expect 2 seasons in a row without major injuries

jairzinho makes an exellent point. ces’s price would fall dramadically if arsenal fall to fifth playe in the epl because of city. Wenger isn’t going to let him go for a 40 million, it would probably cost more than 50 million.

Don’t know if this report this believable.

£40million won’t even get him, he has 5 years left on his contract, you’ll have to atleast pay £50million+, But he won’t be leaving anyway

Screw you Le Arse

Fingers-crossed he’d add so much to our team.I think that we’d ownly need a good defender to complete the whole jigsaw, like Cesc would just be like one big piece.Laporta should pull out all the stops to get this man.In fairness Xavi is closing in on 30 and Cesc could easily fill his boots whenever he retires.
