FC Barcelona – Al Ahly 4-1

fcbarcelona-al-ahly-wembley-267FC Barcelona marked their first victory of the pre-season in a friendly match vs. Al-Ahly.

First half

Barca took the lead after a counterattack launched by Rochina that culminated with Bojan Krkic`s goal. Few minutes later, El Egezy equalized for Al Ahly but FC Barcelona were soon back in the lead. Rueda placed a powerful long-range shot past the Abdel Hameed to make it 2-1.

Second half

In the second half, Barca coach, Pep Guardiola has completely changed his team and sent 11 new players on the pitch.

In 56th minute Jeffren made an use of a good pass from Pedro to mark Barca`s 3rd goal. During an action that led to the goal, Eidur Gudjohnsen accidentally injured Al Ahly`s goalkeeper who subsequently had to be taken off the pitch. 11 minutes later FC Barcelona scored their 4th goal. Pedro took an advantage of Eidur Gudjohnsen`s long ball pass and sealed the result to 4-1 for Barcelona.

First half: Jorquera; Montoya, Henrique, Muniesa, Abidal; Rueda, Keita, Víctor Sánchez; Gai Assulin, Rochina, Bojan

Second half: Valdés, Dalmau, Fontàs, Martín Cáceres, Espasandin, Gudjohnsen, Touré, Messi, Pedro, Jeffren

  1. good game today, was very impressed by rochina thought he had some good runs down the right flank and he also had the assist for the first goal. there has been much tulk about tiago, munies, gai, jeffren etc. but i think we may have up to ten players that are ready for the first team, why sign players??????

  2. hi, i didnt see the game as i was at work, but its a good result coming from the barca kids, lets hope pep does take 1 or 2 of them to the 1st team.

  5. These kids did a good job.It’s a pity that some of them can’t go to the USA for the next game.

  6. If these performances by our kids keep being magnificent then we might start to go into the transfer window 1nce every other year just for fun :-)

  8. does anyone know if the main starters will play in LA against the Galaxy, or will it be mostly B team like wembley cup?
