Ibrahimovic: “I felt very good”
New signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic has finally made his much awaited debut with Barca last night in the Joan Gamper trophy. Although he confessed that he lacked pace, the striker said he felt “very good”, and it is much easier to play alongside players of such high level as Lionel Messi.
In his first official match for the Blaugrana, the former Inter striker received a standing ovations from the fans as he took the pitch, “I am very happy with how the fans treated me, it was very exciting he said.” The Swedish international has recovered from the hand operation he had this summer but admitted he is still not 100%. “I still lack a little physically, I will have to adapt to Guardiola’s system. With all the new equipment you need to adapt because it is a different philosophy here,” he explained.
Ibrahimovic could win his first title with Barcelona this Sunday in the Spanish Super Cup, the only question is whether he will play or not. “We’ll see if I play on Sunday, this depends on the coach, but I clearly want to play,” he concluded.

one thing eto’o was good at was finishing the hard work his teamates did, zlatan got some eto’o like chances but couldnt convert. Good to get the first game out of the way.

Dale: Well, what did you expect? It was his first game with a new team after only two days of proper training – he couldn’t have scored a hat-trick as much as we would have wanted him to “;)”. It takes time to gel with the team, and it seems some of us forget about that simple fact. There’s no point of comparing Eto’o and Ibra as they are two rather different players and I think we’ve gone this path before.
Instead of being impatient and wanting instant results, trickery and magic we should simply give it a bit more time before judging so thoroughly. He might prove good or he might not – we’ll see it in a due time.

Thank you mr anonymous, i appreciate your comment,it was nice. All ibra need is just more time and must gel with the others. If you can really see him yesterday,he was always in the offside position which makes messi hold onto the ball for long.I really needs my guys back.I miss Xavi, iniesta. Please hope the minister of defence is not injured(puyol) because he came out too early.

He still needs to adapt and recover 100 % We shall see how he adapt wit iniesta and xavi. Yesterday with messi was not bad at all; they had nice passes. And the ball from messi against the post..phew what a goal that would have been

its still to harsh to condemn Ibra on his first match with Barca…As Pep said…he needs more playing time so he can adjust to our style of play and to get his own game going..
