Larsson: “Zlatan will have no problems adapting”
In an interview for “La Vanguardia” an ex-Barca player Henrik Larsson endorsed Ibrahimovic’s arrival, giving in perspective his qualities and talent. If there is any person who can be trusted giving an opinion on Ibrahimovic then this is Larsson.
He started off explaining that “when I saw him for the first time I realized how tall he really was, 1.95 m and he weighed 90 kg and to be perfectly sincere I didn’t expect him to play so well and move so swiftly. I’ve never seen a player like this. He is moving like Xavi or Messi, if I provide a comparison. There is some room for improvement and in Barca which is the best club in the world, he has a superb opportunity to do so. I have no doubts regarding his success.”
The former FC Barcelona player distanced from comparing himself with Ibrahimovic saying that “we are two distinct players. He is very tall, very powerful and I have to move around the pitch constantly and cannot stay still. Zlatan is really very good, I guess he is better than me, but I would like to amplify that when I was in top form there were very few strikers that were better than me.”
Larsson went on defending Zlatan’s character: “You shouldn’t place too much reliance on what the Swedish press writes. He is not a typical Swedish striker because he has Yugoslavian roots; he has been on the street and had to learn how to defend himself. I never had a problem with him, he has his own character, but he is a good friend, a bit passionate and a typical teammate who would do anything for his teammates which is very important. I have great confidence in him. He deserves all this and more.”
Finally his teammate from the national team said that he will have no problems adapting: “Zlatan is prepared and has to experience himself what is “mes que un club”. I received a lot of help from Giovanni Van Bronckhorst when I came to Barcelona. I congratulated him and I promised to him that we will talk. So far I’ve sent him a message of congratulations.”

Haha “I would like to amplify that when I was in top form there were very few strikers that were better than me.” Great quote.
