Messi injured and won’t be able to play for the national team
The Argentinean player Lionel Messi has suffered a muscular strain during the training session for his national team. Thus, he won’t be able to play tomorrow when his team meets Russia.
“When I say that I’m worried, I mean it. Messi suffered a muscular strain and won’t play tomorrow. We won’t risk anything, he won’t play a minute. Messi won’t be on the bench,” said Maradona.
Whether Messi will be able to play in the upcoming matches remains yet to be seen. Barca has a Supercup on its schedule and the Gamper Cup, with La Liga looming and they will try to cure Messi’s injury and prepare him for the new season as soon as it is possible

@DAle Thomas: Na. Messi hearts football. I don’t think he’d fake an injury just to avoid playing a game for the national side, no matter how inconsequential it is, just to be fit for Barca. If Barca had to adopt that approach. he shouldn’t have been send to Russia. Why go there see your teammates while you sit idly and watch. That is very Messi unlike. I know you are worried, we all are, but lets keep our fingers crossed and hope that the damage isn’t too bad. We need him and Iniesta, they are the team’s lifelines. One of them needs to work.
