Thiago and Romeu to participate in the European U-19 Championship
Two players from FC Barcelona Athletic will participate in the European Under-19 Championship for the Spanish national team.
Thiago Alcantara, a central midfielder and Oriol Romeu, a defensive midfielder have been training with the team since July,6, in Las Rozas (Madrid) together with other 20 players. Now, the team is already concentrated in Ukraine and is final stages of the training camp.
The head coach Luis Milla is an ex-Barca player. Unfortunately, he discarded Marc Bartra, another FC Barcelona great talent, who will thus not participate in the competition.
Thiago and Romeu already had an experience of conquering Europe with the Under-17 national team. The team was coached by Juan Santisteban, and the core of the team consisted of Barca players (Alex Sanchez, Montoya, Planas, Adria Carmona and Rochina). The most memorable part of the competition was Spain’s huge win over France in the final (4-0).
